Del Taco's Newest Snack: The $2.99 Micro Meal
Looking for a budget-friendly snack without breaking the bank? Del Taco has just the thing. The Lake Forest-based chain has introduced a new Micro Meal, a compact and affordable option for those seeking a quick bite. According to a recent news release, this meal includes a miniature Beef and Cheddar Burrito, 7-10 crinkle-cut fries, and a single Donut Bite, all for just $2.99.
This isn't just a bargain; it's one of the most cost-effective deals from a major fast-food chain. In 2024, McDonald's set the bar with its $5 meal deal, but it was soon outshone by Checkers & Rally's $4 combos and GloRilla's $4 Unbeatable Meal Deal. Del Taco's Micro Meal, however, is a different story.
I had the chance to try it out, and here's what I found. The meal was served in a 5.5-by-5-inch carton, which was surprisingly spacious. I counted the fries, and there were 13 of them, though a couple were shorter than the rest. Typically, you'd get four Donut Bites, but this meal offered just one.
Despite its small size, the Micro Meal made for a light and satisfying lunch without spoiling my dinner plans. As a fan of the full-sized Beef and Cheddar Burrito, I appreciated the guilt-free option.
It's worth noting that these portions aren't available on the regular menu, making it tricky to calculate exact savings. However, if you were to order the full-sized items separately, it would cost more than $10. My total came to $3.25, including tax.
Please be aware that the Micro Meal does not include a beverage. Del Taco also offers other value combos called El Big Boxes, which provide larger meals for $5, $7, or $9. Each El Big Box includes three or four items, such as burritos, fries, or cheeseburgers, along with a 16-ounce soft drink.
The Micro Meal is a limited-time offer and will be available until November 23rd. If you're a fan of Del Taco's affordable options, be sure to try it out while it's still around. For more information, visit deltaco.com.
